Russian Commander Hurt in Explosion
A Russian commander involved in a deadly strike on a Ukrainian village was hurt badly in an explosion at his base. This is what Ukraine’s intelligence says.
Konstantin Nagayko, a 28-year-old Russian commander, was injured when his base exploded on January 3rd. The incident happened in Shuya, Russia. Nagayko was leading the 112th Missile Brigade of the 1st Tank Army of Russia’s Western Military District.
Nagayko is very badly hurt and needs emergency surgery. His condition is critical, and doctors say he may not survive. Nagayko has been involved in planning attacks on Ukrainian cities, including a strike that killed many civilians in Hroza village.
The attack in Hroza happened during a memorial service for a soldier who died. Russian officials claimed the target was a high-ranking Ukrainian nationalist‘s funeral, but this is denied by Ukrainian authorities. Many people, including an eight-year-old boy, were killed in the attack.
Nagayko has been to military school and has experience planning missile strikes on Ukraine. He was involved in planning attacks that hurt civilians and soldiers in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
