According to Agence France Presse, Josep Borell, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security said this during an interview with Spanish public radio RNE.
“Whatever Orban says in Georgia, he doesn’t represent the European Union.” Borrell said that the president of the Union elected by rotation has no authority over foreign policy.
Viktor Orban will be visiting Georgia today as part of an official visit.
The Hungarian prime minister congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze, the Georgian Dream Party and their “overwhelming” victory in the parliamentary election on Saturday.
“Congratulations Irakli Kobakhidze, and the Georgian Dream Party on their overwhelming win at the parliamentary election today. Orban wrote on social media that the people of Georgia knew what was best for their country and made their voices heard today.
