On 27 , the United Kingdom will celebrate 30 years of with Georgia. Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of Great and Northern , wrote to the Prime Minister Georgia to emphasize the importance of the relationship between the two countries.
Johnson points out that the UK and Georgia have worked together for the past 30 years in order to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
“It’s been amazing to see the progress Georgia has made since it regained its independence. In the last thirty years, the United Kingdom has worked with Georgia to develop a partnership that spans a wide range of areas, including educational, cultural, security, and commercial spheres. I am pleased with how the relationship has grown and flourished. This is symbolized by both our annual Wardrop Strategic and our new UK-Georgia Partnership and Agreement. We also value our collaboration on regional and international issues, such as the and climate changes.
I am fully aware that Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked and premeditated barbaric attack on Ukraine has intensified the challenges that Georgia bravely faced for many years. The UK and international community are against this naked aggression, and in support of freedom, and the sovereignty and rights of nations all over the world. Let me assure you that our support for sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the Euro-Atlantic decision of the Georgian people, will not change. I look forward to our partnership’s continued growth in the coming years,” reads the note.
