A formal note has been sent by Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister, Elmedin Konakovic, to Serbia. The reason is that top Serbian officials attended a celebration of Republika Srpska Day.

This day, January 9, is considered unconstitutional in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Serbian and Speaker of the Serbian Parliament Ana Brnabic led the delegation at this event.

The reminded Serbia of previous decisions by the Constitutional Court of BiH and the Office of the High Representative. These decisions stated that celebrating January 9 was against Bosnia’s Constitution.

Despite this, Aleksandar Vucic congratulated Republika Srpska on their holiday. He wished prosperity for all and said Serbia would stand with Republika Srpska through hard times ahead.
