Russian General Killed in Moscow Bombing
A Russian general who was in charge of the country’s chemical warfare forces has been killed in a bombing outside his apartment building in Moscow.
The explosion happened early this morning on Ryazansky Prospekt avenue, which is about 7 kilometers southeast of the Kremlin. The victim was identified as Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.
Kirillov was in charge of Russia’s radiation, chemical and biological protection forces. His assistant also died in the blast.
According to investigators, a bomb had been hidden inside an electric scooter that detonated remotely, causing the explosion. The explosive device contained about 300 grams of TNT.
