**Ukrainians Mark Three Years Since Russia’s Invasion**
People in Bristol came together to remember the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. They showed their support by marching towards a photo exhibition that displayed how war has affected Ukrainian communities.
The event was organized by Antonina Grebeniuk, who founded the charity Ukraine Aid and Welfare. She said it was to keep “Ukraine’s struggle at the forefront of international attention”.
**War’s Devastating Effects**
The photographs in the exhibition were taken by military photographers and Ukrainian media correspondents. They showed how war has ruined towns like Luhansk, Donetsk, Sloboda, and southern Ukraine.
Tens of thousands of people have died since Russia invaded on February 24, 2022. Large areas of Ukraine are now destroyed.
**Ukrainians’ Plea**
Ms Grebeniuk said all occupied lands should be returned to Ukraine. She said it’s not just about territory but also about being able to go back home and visit loved ones’ graves.
Yulia Lychana, a refugee from Ukraine who lives in Somerset, shared her experience of the war. She moved to the UK for safety but still feels homesick.
**Hope Amidst War**
However, Yuliia Shynkarenko, another Ukrainian refugee, remained hopeful. Despite Russia’s initial expectations of taking over Ukraine within three days, Ukraine is still fighting after three years.
Ms Shynkarenko said even if Ukraine falls, their culture will never die.
