**British Bomb Disposal Specialist Injured in Gaza**
A British expert in bomb disposal was injured during an attack on a UN facility in the Gaza Strip. The 51-year-old man was one of five people hurt in the explosion that killed a UN employee on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at a UN compound, which is used for humanitarian aid. The British expert was initially treated in Gaza and then transferred to an Israeli hospital.
**Investigation Underway**
The UN said that the incident was not part of normal explosive ordnance disposal operations, but rather the result of ordnance being dropped or fired on the building where the team was working.
**Concerns Over Attacks on Humanitarian Premises**
A spokesperson for the charity the British expert works with expressed shock and concern over the attack. “It’s shocking that a facility for humanitarian aid is subjected to such attacks and that workers are killed or injured in the course of their duties,” he said.
Attacks on humanitarian premises are a violation of international law, according to the UN.
**Gaza War Continues**
The Gaza war was triggered by Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7th. Since then, there have been massive military operations and huge destruction in Gaza, with over 48,500 Palestinians killed, according to the Gaza health ministry.
