**Former MP Moves to Ukraine for Charity Work**
A former Conservative MP, Newmark, is moving to Ukraine in April. He wants to continue his charity work, called Angels for Ukraine, which has helped tens of thousands of people fleeing the conflict.
Newmark served as an MP from 2005 until 2015. He started visiting Ukraine three years ago when Russia invaded. Since then, he’s been going back and forth between the UK and Ukraine, spending time in towns close to the Russian border.
**Living Through War**
Newmark has seen firsthand the impact of war on civilians. “I was in all these frontline villages,” he said. “Being shelled every day, I could hear bombs dropping around me.” He thinks it’s likely that something bad will happen to him while living in Ukraine, but believes he can make a difference.
**Helping Children with PTSD**
Newmark wants to help children who are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to the war. His charity will work with schools in Ukraine to train adults to support these young people.
**Working on Drone Technology**
Newmark is also interested in working with those in the tech sector who make military drones. He believes this technology has changed the way warfare is conducted, and he wants to help the Ukrainian war effort.
**Ukraine’s Struggle Continues**
The conflict in Ukraine continues, with at least 25 people killed in the Donetsk region over the weekend. Newmark thinks that a peace deal would not be in Ukraine’s best interests, as it might lead to the country being forced to give up its independence.
