Russia Prepared for Genocide in Ukraine Before War Began, Says Intelligence Chief
Russia planned to commit genocide against the Ukrainian people before invading their country. This was revealed by Kyrylo Budanov, the Head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
Budanov said that Russia’s leaders prepared execution lists and mobile crematoriums before starting the war in 2022. They also made plans for mass graves and intended to kill many Ukrainians, including teachers, journalists, and clergy.
The Holodomor, a famine that killed millions of Ukrainians in the 1930s, was mentioned during the discussion. This event is considered one of the most devastating events in Ukrainian history. It was caused by the Soviet regime’s policies and led to widespread starvation.
Budanov emphasized that Russia’s current leaders were aware of their country’s past actions and continued this policy. He pointed out that Russian ruler Vladimir Putin has denied Ukraine’s right to exist as a nation. This shows that Russia’s leadership intentionally prepares for genocide against Ukrainians, said Budanov.
The Intelligence Chief also mentioned that anti-Ukrainian sentiment is widespread in Russia. This means that many Russians have been taught to hate and fear Ukrainians, making it easier for the government to carry out its genocidal policies.
Budanov revealed that before the war started, Russian occupiers were instructed on how to organize mass graves. They also prepared execution lists that targeted specific groups of people, such as teachers, journalists, and clergy who spoke out against the Russian occupation.
Evidence of these plans can be seen across occupied territories in Ukraine. The atrocities committed by Russian forces have shocked the world and demonstrate a clear intent to commit genocide.
