**Lithuania May Send Troops to Ukraine**
The government of Lithuania is considering sending troops to Ukraine if the country’s leaders ask for help. This was said by Kestutis Budrys, Lithuania’s foreign minister.
Budrys made his comments on January 14th in an interview with LRT TV. He said that Lithuania would talk to its allies and partners about what it would mean to send troops to Ukraine. He also said that they would discuss the plan with Ukrainian leaders.
This idea has been mentioned before at a meeting in Paris last year. French President Emmanuel Macron suggested that European countries should take on a bigger role in defending Ukraine.
Macron met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump recently to talk about sending European troops to Ukraine. The leaders agreed to meet again soon to discuss the plan.
**Russia Hits Ukrainian Cities**
Russian missiles hit cities in western Ukraine on January 13th. There were no reports of casualties.
The Russian energy company Gazprom stopped supplying gas to Moldova, a neighboring country, because they say Moldova owes them money. This could be an attempt to put pressure on Moscow.
