UNStudio not only reflects on this topic from a pragmatic perspective, but also on our own discipline as well as the good that we can do for our living .

Caroline Bos studied History of and Urban and Regional Planning in the Faculty of Geosciences at the University of Utrecht. In 1988, she co-founded Van Berkel & Bos Architectuurbureau together with architect Ben van Berkel. This was a way for her to extend her theoretical and writing project into the practice of architecture. Among the projects she has completed are the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam and the museum Het Valkhof, Nijmegen.
In 1998 Caroline Bos co-founded UNStudio (United Net). UNStudio is a network of experts in architecture, urban planning and infrastructure. Urban projects completed include the restructuring of Arnhem’s station area and the mixed use Raffles City development in Hangzhou. Current projects include Southbank by Beulah, a mixed-use development located in Melbourne, and the masterplan of a leisure island for .
Caroline Bos taught as a visiting lecturer at Princeton University and the Berlage Institute, in Rotterdam. She has also been a guest lecturer for the Academy of Fine Arts, in Vienna, and the Academy of Architecture, in Arnhem. In 2012, she was appointed Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning. She was Norman R. Foster’s Visiting Professor of Architectural Design for the academic year 2021-2022 at Yale School of Architecture. Her teaching is based on an inclusive approach to architectural works that integrates virtual and material organization, and engineering constructions. Caroline joined AM in 2020-2022 as Director AM Concepts, and Supervisor Urban Planning AM.
