**US Opinion on Ukraine Split**
A recent poll by CBS News found that Americans are evenly divided in their support for Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression. The poll was conducted before a heated argument between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
**Most Back Ukraine, But Few Back Russia**
52% of respondents said they backed Ukraine, while 44% were neutral, and only 4% openly supported Russia. However, most of those who thought Trump favors Russia still support Ukraine.
**Trump’s Role in Ukraine-Russia Conflict Questioned**
46% of respondents believe that Trump favors Russia, despite the fact that many of these individuals support Ukraine. Only 11% think Trump favors Ukraine.
**Mixed Views on Trump’s Handling of Ukraine-Russia Conflict**
51% of respondents approve of how Trump has handled the conflict, while 49% disapprove. There are also mixed views on Russia itself, with 34% considering it an enemy and 32% seeing it as unfriendly.
**Republican Views Differ from Democrats**
Among Republicans, opinions towards Russia were slightly more favorable, with 41% seeing it as friendly or an ally. However, among Democrats, 72% support military aid to Ukraine, while only 28% oppose it.
