Members of the opposition of the CEC met with representatives of international observers missions
As Giorgi Sioridze (the representative of “Strong Georgia“, in the CEC) pointed out, the CEC has had an isolationist approach towards the opposition members until now and did not permit international missions to provide comprehensive data.
“The opposition members of CEC met with the most important international observers in Georgia, including representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR and the International Republican Institute. They also met with the National Democratic Institute, NMO, and the International Republican Institute. We took the initiative because the CEC had a long-standing isolationist policy toward opposition members. They never gave us an opportunity to show the true picture to international missions when they visited the agency. We have provided them with information based on our personal and political views, but after two weeks since the election we felt that it was necessary to give them all the information, findings and conclusions that have been revealed in the last few days, so they can make their final decisions. The reports should reflect all the information regarding the violations and hijacked election that took place in Georgia. No one disputes the secrecy issue, nor the numerous documented violations, nor the schemes relating to the technological carousel. The parties, however, are demanding that the signed checks for voter verification be made public. There are also real and important monitoring organizations. Secrecy was violated in all 2263 precincts where 90% of voters are concentrated. This is the basis to recognize the elections as invalid,” said Sioridze.
Boris Solomonia spoke to foreign observers about the violations that were observed during the election.
“We met with foreign observers and representatives. We discussed the violations we observed during the elections. The main issue was that secrecy had been clearly violated. We provided the information again and also video material that showed how the “guidelines”, which were given to voters before the election, were recorded. We told the foreign observer about all of this. Boris Solomonia said, “As for their representations, that is beyond our expertise. It will be their decision. In about two months, we will know what they will fully evaluate this entire process.”
