**New Satellite Antennas Found in Drones that Attacked Kyiv**
Drones used by Russia to attack Kyiv on January 1 were equipped with new satellite antennas made in China. This was reported by Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Vladyslav Vlasiuk.
The drones caused a fire at the National Bank building, damaged several structures, and resulted in two deaths and seven injuries. The drones that attacked Kyiv used Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones, but they had been modified to use Chinese-made satellite antennas instead of the usual ones made in Iran or Russia.
**Modified Drones**
The new satellite antennas are called CRPA systems and have eight elements in a circular shape. They were originally designed for use in agriculture, not military purposes. The Ukrainian advisor said that enemy engineers have been discussing how to make their electronic warfare systems more resistant by placing elements in a circle instead of a row.
**Reasons for the Change**
Vlasiuk gave several reasons why Russia might have changed to the new satellite antennas:
* They were testing the circular CRPA system
* There was a shortage of parts because of sanctions
* Iran and Russia couldn’t make enough antennas to meet the demand for drones
