**Church Closes Doors After 50 Years**
A church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania has held its last service. Trinity United Church of Christ was a parish with roots dating back to the 19th century.
The church had been a part of the community for over 150 years. It was formed by three other churches in 1972 and was sold this year to another congregation.
**Closing Down**
Trinity’s members have decided to close down the church due to declining membership. The church building, which is a historic Gothic Revival–style building with large stained-glass windows, has been sold.
The sale of the building will raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity. Trinity’s leaders want this money to go back into the community and help people in need.
**Giving Back**
Trinity members have always tried to give back to the community. They run a food pantry and volunteer at other local charities. Now, they are donating nearly $400,000 to different organizations in Bethlehem.
These donations will include homeless shelters, food pantries, schools, and music programs for children.
“We’re proud of the work we’ve done,” said Trinity’s pastor, Rev. Den Schappell. “We want to leave a legacy that continues to help people.”
**Final Service**
Trinity held its final liturgical service on Sunday. The congregation has been holding services there for 50 years and now it will be closed forever.
