Tbilisi Mayor Helps Club Sector with 2 Million GEL Aid Package
The city of Tbilisi is providing financial help to the club culture sector, which was severely affected by the pandemic. According to Mayor Kakha Kaladze, all people working in this field will receive assistance.
The electronic music and club sector was one of the first to shut down during the pandemic. Many employees lost their jobs and were left without income. The mayor highlighted that this sector has made Tbilisi famous in Europe and attracted many tourists to Georgia.
To alleviate the socio-economic situation of people working in this field, City Hall is providing a 2 million GEL aid package. This will help maintain the viability of electronic music clubs and other organizations. It will also give them motivation to continue their activities after the pandemic.
The mayor said that at least 500 people employed in this sector will benefit from the aid package. The decision was made as part of the Night Economy project, which involves meetings with people involved in the club culture sector.
