Coalition for Change Resigns from Parliament
The Coalition for Change has officially asked the Parliament of Georgia to cancel their mandates. All 19 members of the coalition came together in the parliament and signed a statement.
They want to make it clear that they are not giving up on representing the people and voters. Instead, they say they are taking a stand against the current government and demanding new elections. They compare the situation to Soviet Georgia, saying it has nothing to do with democracy.
Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the coalition, said: “We don‘t expect anything from the regime.” He made it clear that they are not asking for favors, but rather demanding change.
The Central Election Administration has already canceled the registration of several parties, including the Coalition for Change. But this move by the coalition is seen as a bold statement against the current government.
