The Georgian Dream Party announced that a large-scale attack on their server was conducted on February 23. This caused the hardware of provider companies to be disrupted.
“Given the current circumstances, it’s not difficult to guess who committed this crime. It is evident that crime has almost become the only way to express political forces. We call on law-enforcement agencies to investigate cybercrime,” announced the party in a press release.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Midi), cyber attacks on their computer network were carried out from different countries.
The statement stated that the relevant unit of Ministry of Internal Affairs had prevented the attack through operative actions.
A criminal investigation is being conducted into the illegal use or violation of computer data, or a computer network, under Articles 285 and 286, of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
