**Georgia on the Brink of Authoritarianism**
Professor David Darakhvelidze, from Ilia State University and a former member of parliament, has spoken out against the “Georgian Dream” party’s plans to create a one-party system in Georgia. In an interview with “PalitraNews”, he stated that this move is aimed at extending their monopoly on finance and power.
**One-Party System Planned**
The “Georgian Dream” wants to appeal to the Constitutional Court, claiming that the “National Movement” and its satellite parties are unconstitutional. Darakhvelidze says this is a plan for a one-party system, with some satellite parties created by the government itself. This would be similar to the system in China, where there are small parties that play a decorative role alongside the ruling Communist Party.
**Repression or Exile**
Darakhvelidze warned that if the “Georgian Dream” implements these plans, opposition leaders will either face imprisonment or exile from the country. He said this is a logical conclusion based on the statements made by the party’s leadership.
**Return to Feudalism**
The professor described Georgia as entering a new feudalism with authoritarian and totalitarian features. He believes that the “Georgian Dream” wants to create such a system because it allows them to maintain their power and control over finance.
