**Georgian Dream‘s Attitude Sparks Concerns**
A professor at Ilia State University and former member of Parliament, David Darchiashvili, has expressed concerns about the current government’s attitude towards the population. In an interview on PalitraNews’ “Day Newsroom” program, he said that Georgian Dream is creating a system that keeps people powerless and vulnerable.
Darchiashvili stated that the government is ignoring protests and not engaging in dialogue with its citizens. He believes that this approach will eventually lead to greater crises and instability. The professor also mentioned that the government’s reliance on repression and money may make it appear strong in the short term, but strategically, it is very vulnerable.
**A System Based on Repression**
Darchiashvili emphasized that systems based on democracy and pluralistic checks and balances are better than dictatorial models. He pointed out that a system of dictatorship can divide society and sow hatred, making it impossible for crisis and strength to coincide.
The professor added that Georgian Dream does not recognize the changing reality and crisis, believing that “this can go on indefinitely.” He stressed that this attitude is wrong and will inevitably lead to worse crises. Darchiashvili also mentioned that the government’s silence on the health condition of Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder of Batumelebi, shows its intolerance and desire for revenge.
**A Warning to Georgian Dream**
Darchiashvili warned Georgian Dream that if the current political crisis and dictatorial regime do not end after April, it should expect rough and shameless responses from the international community. He emphasized that fundamental changes must occur before April for anything to change.
The professor’s statements come as a warning to the government to reconsider its attitude towards its citizens and engage in dialogue to resolve the current crisis.
