Davit Matikashvili Speaks Out Against President Zurabishvili‘s Recent Speech
Davit Matikashvili, the chairman of Georgia’s Procedural Issues and Rules Committee, has made some strong comments about President Salome Zurabishvili‘s recent speech in the European Parliament. He believes that she is no longer relevant.
According to Matikashvili, the president’s actions are a last attempt to create negative talk about her country and homeland. He criticized her efforts to harm Georgia, saying that nothing unexpected should come from her, given what she has already done. Matikashvili pointed out that there is no issue with the legitimacy of the president, despite attempts by radical opposition groups to challenge it.
Matikashvili described this period as the “last phase of radicalism.” He believes that both President Zurabishvili’s speech and the actions of radical groups in Georgia will eventually fade away. He expressed confidence that Georgia will enter a peaceful situation and start the New Year on a positive note.
