Georgian Diplomat Resigns in Protest of Violence
The Georgian Ambassador to the Netherlands, David Solomonia, has quit his job. His sister announced this on social media and shared a letter he wrote explaining why.
In the letter, David Solomonia says that for most of his 30 years working for Georgia, he focused on helping the country join Europe. He thought it was great to be able to do something he wanted as part of his job. But now, he’s lost hope that he can make a difference.
The ambassador condemns violence and has left his position in the Netherlands.
