Georgia and Germany‘s Relationship Tense
A top official in Georgia is upset with a decision by Germany. The German Ministry of Education has stopped working on projects with Georgia.
Davit Matikashvili, an MP from Georgia, said this move is part of pressure being put on his country. He believes it’s because of Georgia’s stance on the war in Ukraine and its relationships with Russia.
Matikashvili explained that Georgia hasn’t joined the sanctions against Russia and has also expressed strong support for sovereignty and traditional family values. These positions have apparently caused tension between Georgia and Germany.
