**Opposition Leader Receives Death Threats**
A leader of the Serbian opposition, Dragan Djilas, has received explicit death threats. The Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) reported that Djilas’ Instagram account showed disturbing messages and a video of someone firing a gun.
According to the SSP’s press release, the threatening messages were posted on an account called “balkan_trash_talk”. A story on the profile included a video of an unknown person shooting a gun into the air while making threats against Djilas. The post also showed an image of Djilas with a target drawn on his forehead and a message saying they would “harm his children“.
Djilas filed a police report, asking for urgent action to identify the person in the video and keep people safe.
The SSP is demanding that the authorities take immediate action. They say President Aleksandar Vucic‘s constant hate speech against opposition leaders has created an atmosphere where violence is expected.
