**Denmark Helps Ukraine’s Defense Industry**
Denmark is giving 130 million euros to help develop Ukraine’s defense industry. This was announced by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on November 19.
Frederiksen visited Ukraine and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky on the same day. She said it would be good for Denmark’s own industry to learn from Ukraine’s experience in producing weapons.
This is the first time a country has offered to buy arms directly from Ukraine. The Ukrainian defense budget is not enough to pay for the production of all its needed weapons.
The president said that Ukraine’s defense industry has already received over 1 billion dollars from partners, including Norway. He wants Ukraine to open up its defense industry to more cooperation with other countries.
Denmark has been one of Ukraine’s main supporters since Russia started invading in February. The country recently announced a new aid package worth $350 million and has sent a total of $21 million in military aid so far.
