Dimitri Tskitishvili, a leader of the party For Georgia, says that his party sent a letter to the Council of Europe‘s Parliamentary Assembly last week. However, they chose not to make it public right away.
The letter was released today by three other opposition parties. According to Tskitishvili, much of the content in this letter is similar to what For Georgia wrote. In fact, some parts are almost identical.
For Georgia shared their draft with the other opposition parties, but they didn’t agree on it. The leader thinks that the others might have wanted to include more demands than what was agreed upon by For Georgia.
Tskitishvili says that his party focused on issues related to the Council of Europe’s mandate. These included problems with institutions, human rights violations, and post-election repression. He believes that adding unrelated demands would have weakened their message.
For Georgia sent their letter about a week ago, while the three other parties released theirs today.
