A government adviser claims that a missile attack has been carried out on Kiev. CNN reported that an adviser to the Ukrainian foreign minister told reporters the capital was being attacked.
“Terrible Russian missile attack on Kyiv. The last time Kyiv experienced such an event was in 1941 when Nazi Germany invaded. Ukraine has defeated this evil and will defeat them again. Stop Putin. Isolation is needed. Dismantle all connections. Get Russia out of everything,” Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kulleva wrote on Twitter.
According to reports, a Russian aircraft that crashed in Kyiv struck a nine-storey residential tower. It is likely that there will be many casualties amongst the civilian population.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that after 04:00 Kyiv Time, the Ukrainian air defence system destroyed “two deadly presents” from Russia.
