The documents include two versions of a decision refusing to open a criminal case, with the final version omitting references to Navalny experiencing abdominal pain, nausea, and convulsions before his death. These same symptoms were also mentioned in a document describing “seized items,” which included samples of vomit.
Interestingly, the document indicates that these samples were sent for examination, even though there was no previous mention of either the test or Navalny’s nausea. This supports the claims of Navalny’s wife, Yulia Navalnaya, who stated that shortly before his death, Navalny complained of sharp abdominal pain.
Alexander Polupan, the anesthesiologist who treated Navalny after his poisoning with Novichok in August 2020, commented on the documents, stating that the symptoms indicate poisoning by an organophosphorus compound.
