US President-elect Donald Trump met with outgoing President Joe Biden in the Oval Office. According to Trump, they discussed the war in Ukraine during their meeting.
“It was a good conversation,” said Trump. “We talked about many things.” He also praised Biden for his work as president, saying he did a “very good job” campaigning and in other areas.
The meeting came at a time when Biden’s administration is planning to increase US military aid to Ukraine. This will happen before Trump takes office on January 25, 2025.
**US Military Aid to Increase**
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the Biden administration plans to give more military aid to Ukraine in its final months. This will help support Ukraine as much as possible before Trump takes office.
Trump and Biden also talked about the transition of power. Trump promised it would be “smooth” despite earlier tensions. They discussed meeting again just before Trump’s inauguration, which Biden has said he will attend.
