Ukrainian troops have made significant progress in the Kursk region, according to reports from Russian military bloggers. The recent advance in Glushkovsky has been a major blow to Russian forces, who had recently recaptured territory in the area.
The Ukrainian government has been pleading for more arms to defend against Russian aggression, with President Volodymyr Zelensky stating that the “terror can be stopped” if they have the necessary weapons. However, foreign secretary David Lammy has warned that the West will not be intimidated by Russian threats of war if Ukraine is given permission to use Western weapons.
In the meantime, rescue operations are ongoing in Kharkiv, where a Russian-guided bomb attack on a residential building has killed one person and injured 42. The body of a 94-year-old woman was recovered from the ninth floor of the building.
