According to reports, Ukrainian UAVs damaged factory buildings in the oblasts of Tula, Tambov and Voronezh after they targeted Russian alcohol production plants.
According to regional Russian officials, and media reports, Ukrainian drones struck several distilleries as well as other alcohol-producing plants across Russia overnight on the 22nd of October.
Since January, Ukraine has intensified its drone attacks against Russia, focusing on airfields in western Russia, ammunition depots and fuel depots. These strikes are intended to disrupt Russian military supply and operations, damage infrastructure, and increase the cost of war in Russia. Usually, alcohol production facilities are not targeted by such strikes.
Two distilleries in Tula Oblast were damaged by the attacks. According to Dmitry Milyaev of the regional governor, the attacks affected the Efremov Distillery and another facility at the Luzhkovsky Settlement. Both incidents were without injuries.
Astra, a Russian news channel, reports that residents of Efremov have reported two explosions as well as a fire around 3:30 am near the thermal power station and synthetic rubber factory. Local authorities have not commented on these reports.
Maxim Yegorov, the governor of Tambov Oblast reported an explosion in Rasskazovo. Yegorov said that the explosion was probably caused by a drone and resulted a fire which was extinguished in an hour. No injuries were reported.
