**Drone Attack Hits Russia’s Rostov Oblast**
Russian authorities have confirmed a massive drone attack on facilities in the country‘s Rostov Oblast. The strikes occurred overnight on December 19 and targeted an oil refinery.
**Fire Engulfs Oil Refinery**
The Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery was hit during the attack, causing a large fire to break out. Videos showed the extent of the damage. The refinery is located near Russia’s border with Ukraine’s Luhansk Oblast.
**Strategic Location**
Novoshakhtinsk is situated about 150 kilometers from the frontlines in Ukraine. The oil refinery specializes in producing fuel for various uses, making it a key facility in the region.
**Previous Attacks**
The Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery was targeted before, in June of this year. However, the facility has since been repaired and remained operational until now.
