Drones Attack Chechen Leader’s Forces
Four explosions hit military facilities in Grozny, Chechnya, on December 15. Local sources said the blasts occurred around 7 a.m.
The attacks targeted two important bases: the second regiment and the OMON base. The OMON is an internal security force controlled by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Kadyrov supports Russia’s war in Ukraine with troops from his own forces. He has at least 20 military units under his command.
This was the third time in a month that drones attacked bases belonging to Kadyrov’s forces in Grozny. The previous attack happened just three days ago, and another one occurred a month before that.
Videos shared by local sources showed destruction at an OMON base barracks. Russian forces tried to stop the attacks with small arms fire, but were unable to do so.
