According to The Hill, a Harvard CAPS/Harris survey, Donald Trump, the former U.S. president, has a slight lead over Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris in early American voters, especially those living in battleground states.
Total 48% of voters in swing states who said they would cast their votes early supported Trump. 47% sided Harris. Another 5% of voters said they had voted for another candidate or hadn’t yet voted.
The upcoming presidential election in the United States in 2024 could have a profound effect on Washington’s support of Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression. Trump’s views about Ukraine and the war have caused fears that he may scale down or withdraw his military support if elected again this November.
Harris, Trump’s rival in the upcoming election, has slammed Trump for his admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin and dictators.
Seven states in the United States — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan Nevada, North Carolina Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — are considered to be crucial for this year’s presidential election. Elections are scheduled for Nov. 5.
The survey found that Trump has a 2 point lead over Harris among voters in key battleground states.
Harris, on the other hand, is 8 points ahead of Trump among voters who’ve already voted in all parts of the country. She has 51%, compared to Trump’s only 43%.
The survey was conducted from October 11 to 13 and included a representative sample consisting of 3,145 registered voter, including 898 voters from battleground states.
David Arakhamia is the leader of Zelensky’s Servant of the People, a parliamentary group. He made a comment to the Kyiv Independent.
Financial Times (FT), Oct. 15, reported that Elina Valtonen, Finnish Foreign Minister, warned that Western countries are becoming tired of their support for Ukraine and called for a stronger commitment to backing Kyiv.
