Education Minister Slavica Djukic Dejanovic said on Friday that 96 percent of Serbian schools are operating as normal. This is a positive development after several months of difficulties.
Only one elementary school in Pancevo and some high schools in major cities were not functioning due to blockades. However, the minister reported that “life is returning to schools” and the situation is improving.
**Plan to Catch Up**
Schools have created plans to make up for lost classes. Teachers who are still working can take on extra classes and earn more money as a motivation. If needed, headmasters can request help from other schools, and teachers will be sent in to support.
**Warning: University Students Must Return**
The minister warned that the school year could fail if university students do not return to classes in April. Some colleges are expected to resume normal classes on April 1.
**University Professors Encouraged to Return**
The minister called on university professors to return to work, promising them pay for lost classes once they have caught up.
