**Businessman‘s Health Condition Serious, Lawyer Says**
Businessman Giorgi Chikvaidze, who has been arrested on charges of embezzling a large amount of money, is in serious health condition. He has been on a hunger strike for 9 days and was visited by lawyer Eka Beselia at the Gldani No. 8 penitentiary institution.
**Chikvaidze Needs Specialized Medical Care**
According to Beselia, the prison director promised to transfer Chikvaidze to the Gldani No. 18 medical facility today. However, Beselia stated that this is not enough and that Chikvaidze needs specialized medical care. “He moves in a wheelchair; he cannot move physically,” said Beselia. “He needs special attention under medical supervision.”
**Chikvaidze Refuses to Stop Hunger Strike**
Despite his serious health condition, Chikvaidze refuses to stop his hunger strike. He demands that the authorities present evidence of why his detention was changed to imprisonment. His arrest occurred without any evidence or proof.
**Conditions for Transfer to Medical Facility**
The head of the institution promised to transfer Chikvaidze to the medical facility today under certain conditions. These include allowing him to make at least one phone call per day and ensuring that his communication is not restricted. However, Chikvaidze has made it clear that he does not intend to stop his hunger strike.
**Lawyer’s Concerns**
Beselia expressed concern about Chikvaidze’s health condition and the need for specialized medical care. “He probably needs to be in a specialized medical facility where doctors can take care of him,” she said. “From what I visually observed, he is essentially in a self-sacrificial state.”
