Problems during Elections Well Known to Western Partners
The head of Transparency International Georgia, Eka Gigauri, said that the problems seen on election day in the country are well known to its Western partners. She made this comment after meeting with the EU ambassador.
According to her, the discussion focused on what can be done next. The third sector, she said, emphasized the importance of Georgian citizens not accepting the injustice they saw during the October 26 elections.
Many problems occurred during the election day and various schemes were used to rig the results. Western partners are well informed about this, and they are now discussing ways to move forward.
The executive director stressed that it is crucial for Georgian citizens to reject the injustice seen in the elections. The third sector will continue to fight for Georgia’s European future as representatives of the civil society and as citizens of the country.
Discussions on what happened during the election day will continue, including finding concrete solutions in Brussels.
