The Elene Akhvlediani house museum in Tbilisi reopened following a major renovation supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports. The restoration cost GEL 376.180.
The project included the complete renovation of the space, including new heating, cooling, lighting and storage systems, as well as utility systems that met museum standards. The home and office of Akhvlediani have been recreated in order to match the original atmosphere. Professionals have also restored over 100 paintings and 100 artworks. Unique items like a 19th century Georgian tablecloth, and Akhvlediani’s furniture were preserved.
The museum will preserve Akhvlediani traditions and host cultural events within its walls.
