**Detained Leader Underwent Legal Procedures**
Elene Khoshtaria, leader of the “Coalition for Change“, has undergone the required legal procedures after her detention. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, she was detained on March 28 for disobeying a police order and petty hooliganism.
Khoshtaria was first taken to a police building and later to a temporary detention facility. Before being placed in the detention facility, the necessary procedures were carried out as required by law. During these procedures, Khoshtaria refused to undergo inspection and behaved aggressively, despite repeated requests from facility staff.
A substance believed to be illegal was also found in her possession during the inspection. This has been sent for examination.
**Video Evidence Available**
The procedures at the detention facility were recorded on surveillance cameras. If requested, human rights defenders can review the footage with the relevant authorities and Khoshtaria’s consent.
Khoshtaria had refused to meet with a representative of the Public Defender‘s Office after being placed in the temporary detention facility.
