**Party Demands Cancellation of Election Lists**
A Georgian political party, “Coalition for Change”, has asked the Central Election Commission to cancel their lists. This move comes after a gathering in parliament was held without the party’s members.
The party claims that this gathering is not legitimate, as it does not represent the will of the people. According to Elene Khoshtaria, one of the party leaders, “no matter how many times they meet, this gathering cannot be recognized as power”.
Khoshtaria also announced that the party’s representative is currently at the Central Election Commission, submitting a formal request to cancel their list. The party does not recognize the elections and has no intention of working with this parliament.
**Procedure Must Be Followed**
Zurab Girchi Japaridze, another leader of “Coalition for Change”, explained that procedurally, the lists should be closed first before individual statements about leaving the mandate can be made. The party must submit an application to the Central Election Commission and wait for it to be processed.
“After that, individual statements are written for those for whom they subscribe mandates,” Japaridze said. “The procedure is as follows, first the list is canceled and then everyone writes the statement individually.”
