**Coalition for Change Leader Won’t Meet with Europe Delegation**
Elene Khoshtaria, a leader of the “Coalition for Change,” says she won’t meet with a Council of Europe delegation visiting Georgia. She thinks it’s wrong to visit without seeing political prisoners.
Khoshtaria said the Council of Europe is an organization, not a country, and its visit doesn’t mean the government is recognized as legitimate. She accused the ruling party, “Georgian Dream,” of using this for propaganda.
**Main Mandate: Human Rights**
The Council of Europe’s main job is to protect human rights. Khoshtaria believes it’s wrong that they’re not visiting political prisoners and not entering prisons now. This, she says, is a big mistake.
In her statement, Khoshtaria said there’s no shame in pointing out mistakes. What matters is standing firm on principle. She refused to meet with the delegation because of this.
