Elguja Khokrishvili is the former representative of Georgia to Germany and member of “Gakharia For Georgia”, Elguja Kaladze. He responded to the statement of Kakha Kaladze who said about German Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Liurman that “she’s just an ordinary Kubilius dressed up”.
Elguja Khokrishvili stated in the “PalitraNews‘” program “Resume” that the country is now in a very dangerous stage because it has been completely isolated.
“She is a German state minister whose portfolio includes the relations with the European Union. The strategic ambiguity which existed recently in relation to the “Georgian Dream” that they were even taking steps towards democracy, even toward the European Union has been removed.
We have entered a very hazardous phase. The country is totally isolated, i.e. the relations with our strategic allies. This has been officially announced. All high-level meetings, as well as all cooperation formats and programs between Georgia, the European Union, and individual leading nations, have been frozen.
Germany has always been known for its wide range of cooperation. It is sad that we have now reached this point where the German state minister separates the Georgian citizens from the Georgian government.
Elguja Khokrishvili said, “She believes the citizens of Georgia are Europeans. Their future is in Europe. They hope that on the 26th of October the Georgian people make the right decision.”
Anna Luhrmann is the German Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister for European and Climate Affairs. She stated that Germany supports Georgia in its quest to join the European Union. However, “this does NOT apply to the current Georgian government, which creates barriers on this path towards the European Union.”
Kakha Kaladze (General Secretary of “Georgian Dream”) responded to this statement by saying that she did not know who Ana Liurmani was. She is a kubilius dressed in a dress. This is my attitude toward them.”
