Public Sector Employees Protest in Tbilisi.
Employees of the public sector have gathered in Republic Square, Georgia. They are marching towards the parliament building to join a continuous protest that has been going on for 14 days.
The protesters are reacting to recent events in the country and their own situation in the public sector. They are upset about a government decision to reject membership applications until 2028.
“We want to show we are loyal to our country, its Constitution, and society,” said Giga Sopromadze, an employee of Tbilisi’s City Hall. “We also demand that our employers stop using violence and intimidation against us.”
The protesters aim to convey their message to the public and those in power. They will join a rally on Rustaveli Avenue later.
