Estonia Announces New Military Aid Package for Ukraine
Estonia’s defense minister, Hanno Pevkur, visited Kyiv on November 11. During the visit, he met President Volodymyr Zelensky and announced a new aid package for Ukraine.
The package includes military aid such as clothing and small arms. Estonia has committed to allocating 0.25 percent of its GDP for military support in Ukraine. President Zelensky thanked Estonia for its leadership and stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries.
Estonia and Ukraine discussed plans to produce long-range drones in Ukraine, as well as Estonia’s support for Ukraine’s bid to join the EU or NATO. The leaders also reviewed progress on a larger victory plan for Ukraine.
Estonia has been a strong supporter of Ukraine since the full-scale invasion began. It has provided humanitarian, development, and military aid. In June, Estonia and Ukraine signed a 10-year agreement for bilateral security, with Estonia promising to provide over 100 million euros in defense assistance.
This new aid package is part of Estonia’s ongoing support for Ukraine.
