He said that each country that has ever joined the European Union has had a chance to make a big leap forward. “I hope this will be the case . But, it’s in your head, on our side, the side of European Union. We have said it loudly and clearly. Last December, we decided to our doors to you, Georgia. We are waiting for your arrival, but you must go through the doors yourself. No one can do it. No one else can do it for you. You decide. This is your country. “This is your country,” said the Ambassador.
The last question asked to Ambassador Herczynski concerned whether the EU would cooperate with Georgian Dream if it won the elections. He replied: “At European Union we will respect the choice that you, the Georgians, will make.” It is not up to the European Union decide on political decisions before, during, or after elections…I have full confidence in the choice made by the Georgian people. Whatever the outcome of the election, provided that the elections are free and fair, then we will respect the result and work with any democratically-elected government of Georgia.
