Georgian Government Changes Its Mind on EU Integration
The Georgian government has made a decision to not follow the path of integration into the European Union for the next 4 years. This is a choice they have made as a sovereign country.
The ambassador of the European Union in Georgia spoke with journalists about this news. He said that he was disappointed and sad because the EU had opened its door to Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova. These countries were making progress towards joining the EU.
The ambassador believes that it’s up to the people of Georgia to decide what they want for their country. He wants them to know that the EU supports the Georgian people and will wait for their decision.
