**EU Imposes New Sanctions on Belarus**
The European Union has introduced new sanctions against Belarus. This is in response to the continued repression and election of Alexander Lukashenko as President of Belarus.

**Twenty-five individuals and seven entities sanctioned**
The EU has sanctioned 25 individuals and seven entities for their role in undermining democracy and the rule of law in Belarus. These include judges who issued politically motivated sentences, members of the Election Commission, and companies involved in the military-industrial complex.
The sanctions also condemn the role of these individuals and entities in human rights violations, repression, and supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine.
**Belarusian agricultural company sanctioned**
A Belarusian agricultural company called Tsybulka-Bel LLC has been imposed with restrictive measures for using inmates as forced laborers. Several companies and their leadership have also been subject to sanctions for their involvement in the Belarusian military-industrial complex.
**Human rights groups denounce election**
The election was widely criticized by human rights groups, who denounced the regime for its harsh crackdown on political opposition, free media, and civil society.
