EU Budget Increase by 100 Billion Euros

The Union’s defense budget is set to rise significantly. Commissioner Andrius Kubilius has proposed seven-year budget of 100 billion euros, which is ten times the current amount.

This increase is meant to prepare potential Russian aggression against EU countries. Kubilius stated that if Russia wins , it could lead to increased aggression against EU members.

Kubilius identified Vladimir Putin as the main adversary and emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine’s victory. He believes this will ensure European security.

The Commissioner also stressed the need for a strong defense union and investment in industrial capacity. This is part of the President ‘s plan to strengthen EU defenses.

Kubilius has experience as Prime Minister of Lithuania, which he served from 2008 to 2012.
