EU demands investigation into Roshchyna’s death and condemns ‘abuses of journalists’

The statement stated: “The demands an independent and thorough investigation that clarifies as soon as possible all the circumstances surrounding ‘s death.”
According to the statement Roshchyna was killed while being transferred from to Moscow.
Initiative for Human Rights earlier said that Roshchyna is suspected of being held in Russian detention centres where torture is used to prisoners.
The statement said that she was the thirteenth journalist killed since the beginning of ‘s full scale of Ukraine.
The statement also added: “There can never be impunity for abuses and violations of human rights against journalists.”
Roshchyna was reported dead on 10 October after being held captive in Russia following her disappearance from August 2023 when she was reporting in Russian-occupied territories.
Roshchyna covered the full-scale for several Ukrainian outlets including and Ukrainska Pravda (RFE/RL).
Roshchyna, a Russian citizen, was detained by the (FSB) for 10 days in March 2022 as she left Berdiansk to go towards Mariupol. As a condition for her release, Roshchyna was forced to record an audio recording saying that Russian forces saved her life.
