EU to Help Maintain Order in Kosovo
The European Union‘s police unit in Kosovo, called EULEX, is getting extra help from other EU countries. They will send more police officers to work with the ones already there.
These new police officers come from France, Italy, Lithuania, and Portugal. They will team up with police from Poland to keep everyone safe in Kosovo. The main goal is to make sure there’s stability and safety for all communities.
EULEX needs these extra police officers because they want to be able to respond quickly to any problems that might happen. This is especially important before the elections in February, when many people will be out voting.
This isn’t the first time EULEX has asked for help from other EU countries. They’ve done this five times since March 2022.
